Weston Davis commits to LSU Tigers; 5-star offensive tackle flips from Texas A&M

Depending on the recruiting service one uses, most, if not all, of the five-star prospects in the class of 2024 are already verbally committed.

But that doesn't mean their recruitments are over.

The college football world got a reminder of that fact Thursday evening, as Beaumont United (Texas) five-star offensive tackle Weston Davis flipped his commitment from Texas A&M to LSU.

Davis shared the announcement on his Instagram. 

“I see that LSU has the best offensive line in the SEC right now,” Davis told On3. “Coach Davis is a good coach and he developed the players that he has now.”

“I love the coaching staff, especially coach Davis. Man, it’s family there for sure. They plan on using me like Emery (Jones) and Will (Campbell).”

The 6-foot-6, 280-pound offensive lineman is rated the nation's No. 18 overall prospect and No. 3 offensive tackle. 

Davis originally committed to Texas A&M over LSU and others this summer, coming off a trip to Baton Rouge. 

But Brian Kelly's program never gave up its pursuit and pulled off the big-time flip Thursday.
