Aidan Chiles proves he's not a fan of the Oregon Ducks

Old habits die hard.

This week, Oregon State Beavers star freshman quarterback Aidan Chiles entered the NCAA's transfer portal.

Almost immediately, the 6-foot-3, 200-pound signal-caller was connected to Jonathan Smith's new Michigan State Spartans football program.

But that hasn't stopped Chiles from keeping up his passion for an old in-state rival, the Oregon Ducks.

On Wednesday, former Oregon State defensive back Jermod McCoy, who also entered the transfer portal, announced a scholarship offer from Oregon.

Chiles clearly wasn't a fan:

That response is interesting from several reasons.

One - and something that has already grown quite obvious - is that Chiles is not considering an in-state transfer to the quarterback-needy Ducks, who have seemingly zeroed in on former Oklahoma star Dillon Gabriel.

Two, coming out of Downey (California) in the class of 2023, Chiles committed to Oregon State early, but both Oregon and Washington attempted significant pushes to get him to flip.

Chiles stayed loyal, earned an All-American Bowl invitation and climbed to the nation's No. 58 overall prospect and No. 7 quarterback. 

In truth, a quick X/Twitter post is (mostly) meaningless, but it was interested to see Chiles' distain for his former rival may strongly carry over to the Big Ten should he choose Michigan State.
