Nasir Wyatt on Oregon Ducks visit: ‘My heart was really into it…'

Mater Dei (California) elite edge-rusher Nasir Wyatt left Eugene with a strong impression of the Oregon Ducks

Oregon Ducks coach Dan Lanning wasn't shy about his pitch to Mater Dei (California) elite edge-rusher Nasir Wyatt last week.

Prior to Wyatt's third visit to Eugene, Lanning visited Mater Dei and let the All-American-caliber defender know that the staff was serious about securing his commitment.

Following Wyatt's third visit, he joined "Recruiting with Andrew Nemec" on ESPN-affiliate 1080 The FAN and said that the pitch is resonating - even if it hasn't yet led to a commitment.

"They are setting the bar really high," he said.

"The one thing I like about Oregon that I really speak a lot about is how every single time i visit and every time I go up there I learn something new and feel something even more special... visit by visit by visit," Wyatt said. "Every time I've been to Oregon, for these three visits, it's been amazing."

Going forward, Wyatt will visit Miami, Ohio State, Texas and possibly others, and said he'll compare those programs to the Ducks.

"My heart was really into it when I was in Eugene," he said.

Wyatt is flirting with five-star status as the nation's No. 27 overall prospect and No. 2 edge-rusher, according to 247Sports.

He's a priority target for the Ducks, and it is beginning to sound like that interest is mutual.
