Each week, SBLive gathers the best high school performances across the country with the help of fans, readers and staff.

We've separated boys and girls because of how many great performances there are each week. Now it's your turn to choose a standout among the pack, the best of the best.

Here are the nominees for SBLive's Girls Athlete of the Week for April 24-30. Voting closes on Sunday, May 7 at 11:59 (Pacific Time) and winners are announced on Mondays.

Girls national athlete of the week nominees

Sophia Beckmon, Oregon City (Oregon)

For the second consecutive week, Beckmon shattered her own state record in the long jump. The senior won the long jump competition at the Nike/Jesuit Twilights Relays with a nation-leading mark of 22-4, just off the national high school record set by Maine’s Kate Hall in 2015 (22-5).

Mia Brahe-Pedersen, Lake Oswego (Oregon)

Brahe-Pedersen ran an Oregon all-conditions record time of 11.07 in the 100 at the Nike/Jesuit Twilight Relays. The junior’s best wind-legal time of the season is 11.17, which ranks second in the county.

Tatum David, Richland County (Illinois)

David set a new Illinois state record in the 3,200 at the Herrin Girls Invitational, cruising to a first-place finish in 9:48.94. The senior ranks first nationally in the 3,200.

Sophia DeMarco, Cranford (New Jersey)

DeMarco went 3 for 3 with a double, two home runs, four RBIs and three runs scored in a 10-0, five-inning victory over Brearley. The Seton Hall commit has 25 home runs during her Cranford career.

Emerson Eustice, Cheboygan (Michigan)

Eustice hit for the cycle and finished with five RBIs in a 17-2 win over Rudyard. She went 4 for 4 at the plate and also struck out eight in the circle.

Taylor Fingers, Timberview (Texas)

Fingers won the Class 5A Regional 1 title in the triple jump at 42-9, the best mark in the country this spring. Fingers is an LSU signee.

Addisen Fisher, Bend (Oregon)

Fisher, a UCLA commit, threw a five-inning one-hitter with 12 strikeouts and went 3 for 5 at the plate in an 18-0 victory over Ridgeview.

Skyler Franklin, Western (Florida)

Franklin, a freshman, captured Class 4A District 14 titles in the 100 (11.74), 200 (24.35) and 400 (52.52). Her 400 time ranks second nationally this season.

Adaejah Hodge, Montverde Academy (Florida)

Hodge, a sophomore, ran the best wind-legal 100 time in the country this spring at the Corky/Crowfoot shootout, placing second at 11.11 behind University of Oklahoma senior Kennedy Blackmon’s 11.06. Hodge also ran a wind-aided 22.31 in the 200, the top all-conditions time nationally by 0.7 seconds.

Ella Ludden, Birmingham (California)

Ludden was once again dominant in the circle against El Camino Real, striking out 16 in a 3-2 victory.

Grace Melcher, Central Valley (Washington)

Melcher blasted three home runs and collected 10 RBIs in a 22-6 victory over Ferris.

McKennah Metzger, Aurora (Ohio)

Metzger threw a six-inning perfect game in a 10-0 victory over Copley, striking out 11 of the 18 batters she faced. The Kent State commit also went 2 for 3 at the plate with a double, a home run and three RBIs.

Jalyn Montes, Cibola (New Mexico)

Montes hit her 20th home run of the spring — a new New Mexico single-season state record — in a 7-6 victory over Atrisco Heritage Academy.

Elizabeth Peery, Ridgefield (Washington)

Peery faced the minimum in a seven-strikeout no-hitter against R.A. Long. The lone baserunner reached via an error and was thrown out stealing. Ridgefield won 7-0.

Madison Sunderland, Ludlow (Massachusetts)

Sunderland belted a pair of home runs and struck out 13 in the circle as Ludlow defeated Chicopee Comprehensive, 10-5.

Carter Wachtel, Triway (Ohio)

In a nine-inning marathon, Wachtel struck out 18 and surrendered just one hit in a 2-1 victory over Tuslaw. The junior Georgia Tech commit struck out the first eight batters she faced.

Chloe Walls, Brownwood (Texas)

Walls hit two home runs — including a grand slam — and finished with eight RBIs in a 12-0, five-inning victory over Levelland.
