Grant Lovette, Catawba Ridge, Boys Basketball

The 6-foot-2 senior had a big week as the Copperheads opened the 4-A state playoffs. He scored 21 points on 10-of-15 shooting in Catawba Ridge’s 64-55 win over Riverside in the first round. Then he scored 20 points, grabbed 13 rebound, had 5 assists and blocked 2 shots in a 56-49 upset of previously undefeated North Augusta in the second round.

MiLaysia Fulwiley, Keenan, Girls Basketball

A South Carolina recruit, Fulwiley scored 26 points in the Raiders’ 92-47 rout of Saluda in the second round of the 2-A state playoffs. She also passed 3,000 points for her career, a milestone achieved by few at the prep level.

Isaiah Mosley, Greenville, Boys Basketball

There's no better time to reach your single-game career high than the state playoffs and that's what Mosley did Friday night. The senior guard scored 28 points as Greenville held off Greer 64-58 in a battle of top 10 teams in a sold-out gym.

Kam Foman, Hartsville, Boys Basketball

Foman, a 6-foot-5 senior guard/forward, hit the go-ahead basket with 15 seconds remaining in the Red Foxes’ second-round playoff win over Northwestern. He finished with 17 points. Foman also scored 15 points and got 10 rebounds in Hartsville’s 47-40 overtime over A.C. Flora in the first round.

Colton Phares, Beaufort, Wrestling

Phares, who competes at 182 pounds, picked up his 100th career win at the Lower State individual championships. A key player for the Eagles’ state championship football team, Phares has signed to play that sport for Appalachian State.

Josh Leonard, Wilson, Boys Basketball

Leonard is, get this, an eighth-grader. And he made the most clutch play in the game as the Tigers beat Ridge View 48-45 in the second round of the state playoffs. Leonard came up with steal in the closing seconds to deny Ridge View a chance at a game-winning shot. He also scored 10 points.

Horace Jacques, Orangeburg-Wilkinson, Boys Basketball

Jacques dominated as the Bruins brushed aside Lakewood in the second round of the 3-A state playoffs. The 6-foot-2 senior scored 31 points, got 8 rebounds and collected 7 steals.

Makayla Dukes, Wade Hampton (Hampton), Girls Basketball

Dukes came up with a big all-around effort in a close playoff game. She scored 11 points to go along with 8 steals and 6 assists in the Red Devils’ 53-50 win over Kingstree in the second round.

Dasia Ferguson, Dorman, Girls Basketball

The 5-foot-9 Coker commit scored a game-high 23 points in the Cavaliers’ 61-34 drubbing of Nation Ford in the first round of the 5-A state playoffs. Ferguson leads Dorman with 13.2 points per game.

Reagan Kizer, Calhoun Academy, Girls Basketball

A junior, Kizer scored 28 points and grabbed 22 rebounds in the Cavaliers’ 52-34 win over Marlboro Academy in the first round of the SCISA state playoffs.
