Here are the candidates for SBLive’s South Carolina High School Athlete of the Week for April 24-29 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote at the bottom of the page. Voting will conclude on Sunday and the winner will be announced Monday, May 8. Thomas Powell, River Bluff, Baseball

Powell went 2-for-2 with a home run and 4 RBIs in the Gators’ 15-2 pounding of Chapin. The home run was Powell’s ninth of the season.

Sawyer Smith, North Myrtle Beach, Baseball

A freshman sensation who has already committed to North Carolina, Smith went 1-for-2 with an RBI and pitched two innings of hitless relief with three strikeouts to get the save in the Chiefs’ 2-0 win over Socastee.

Aydin Palmer, South Florence, Baseball

Palmer just keeps rolling. This time he smashed two home runs and had seven RBIs in the Bruins’ 14-3 rout of Lake City. One of his homers was a grand slam.

Tyra Robinson, Ridge View, Softball

Robinson, a junior, was 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Ridge View’s 11-6 win over A.C. Flora. She is batting .426 with 6 home runs and 29 RBIs for the Blazers.

Jake Morris, Lugoff-Elgin, Baseball

Morris, who has committed to Clemson, pitched a five-inning no-hitter with 11 strikeouts as the Demons dominated Irmo 10-0 to clinch the Region 5-4A championship.

Avery Ingram, Airport, Softball

The sophomore standout was 2-for-4 with a triple and two stolen bases in the Eagles’ 9-6 loss to Ridge View. Ingram batted .529 with 6 home runs and 25 RBIs during the regular season.

Katie Roberts, South Aiken, Softball

Roberts delivered a walk-off single, lifting the Thoroughbreds to a 4-3 win over Pelion. She ended up 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs.

Mason Connor, Branchville, Baseball

Connor had four hits, including a double, and four RBIs in the Yellow Jackets’ 11-1 rout of Calhoun Academy.

Zach Hart, Gray Collegiate Academy, Boys Soccer

Hart scored three goals in the War Eagles’ 6-1 win over Columbia. Hart leads the War Eagles with 24 goals. Gray Collegiate clinched the Region 4-2A championship with the win.

Sage Bradshaw, Hilton Head Christian, Boys Golf

Bradshaw shot back-to-back rounds of 68 to help lead the Eagles to the SCISA 3-A state championship at Coastal Carolina University’s Hackler Course.
