We have 10 athletes nominated this week for SBLive’s South Carolina High School Athlete of the Week from March 3-9 and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, March 16 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Jayla Spratt, St. James, Girls Track and Field

Spratt set a school record of 71 feet, 9 inches in the javelin.

Jaidyn Devore, Barnwell, Softball

The junior pitcher fired a two-hitter with no earned runs and 16 strikeouts as the War Horses beat Williston-Elko 11-3 to open the 2024 season. Devore was also 2-for-4 with an RBI. The junior standout was also 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs in an 8-6 loss to Colleton County. In the circle, she allowed two earned runs and struck out 12.

Byer Ware, Camden, Baseball

In a dominant performance, Ware threw a one-hitter with 14 strikeouts on just 73 pitches as the Bulldogs beat Andrew Jackson 3-0. Ware also had a hit and walked twice.

Cole Price, Batesburg-Leesville, Baseball

Price was 2-for-5 with a home run and 3 RBIs as the Panthers beat Lakewood 12-2.

Charlie Bonds, Richard Winn Academy, Baseball

Bonds went 2-for-3 with a walkoff homer run in a win over Richland Northeast. In addition, he pitched 2/3 of an inning with a strikeout in the top of the seventh.

Noah Mills, Newberry, Baseball

Mills was 4-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs as the Bulldogs beat Whitmire 9-4. The 6-foot, 200-pound senior was also 1-for-3 in a 4-1 win over Irmo.

Wilfer Bustamante, J.L. Mann, Boys Soccer

Bustamante scored three goals in a 4-1 win over Eastside, one goal in a 2-1 win against Greenville and two goals in a 4-2 win over Chapin.

Jaden Williamson, Dillon, Baseball

Willamson had a huge game with three hits, including a home run and two doubles, and four RBIs in the Wildcats’ 14-3 romp over Carvers Bay.

Aubrey Holland, Greenwood, Softball

Holland delivered a two-run walkoff single, lifting the Eagles to a 4-3 win over Ninety Six.
