Farragut (Tennessee) head coach Eddie Courtney announces retirement: Report
The Farragut Admirals will for the first time since the mid-1990’s be in search for a new head football coach.
According to 5StarPreps.com on Wednesday morning, Farragut head coach Eddie Courtney officially announced he would be retiring after serving as the program’s lead man from 1996-2023.
Down below is the statement made by Courtney on his retirement from high school football.
“Today I decided to announce my retirement and step down as the Head Coach of the Farragut High School Football program. I have always tried to lead this program and community with a positive approach that is founded on hard work and a commitment to integrity. I have deeply enjoyed my role serving this school and community as your Head Coach and will cherish the relationships with everyone involved. In making this decision, I'm looking forward to dedicating more time to my family and the joyous occasions we have yet to share. It's time to hand off the whistle to a new leader, someone who will bring energy and enthusiasm to our esteemed program. I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the team of former players, fellow coaches, teachers, and administrators, as well as our faithful supporters, for making my time here an experience that goes beyond football and into building a community. #GOADS #ETB”
Courtney finishes his coaching career at Farragut with 214 overall wins over his near 30 years at the helm.
