Rylan Galvan came up with the big hit for Sinton, belting a solo home run

SINTON, Texas - The Sinton Pirates opened the 2022 Texas high school baseball season with a 3-1 victory over Taylor at the Sinton Invitational on Thursday. 

Senior Wyatt Wiatrek, the Pirates' No. 1 starter, pitched five strong innings, allowing just one run on two hits. Aiden Moody came in to close out the game in the sixth inning, throwing two scoreless innings.

Rylan Galvan came up with the big hit for Sinton, belting a solo home run to give the Pirates a 2-1 lead. 

The Pirates, who will take the field again Friday in the second day of the Sinton Invitational, start district play on March 8 at home vs. West Oso.
