SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The University Interscholastic League revealed its 2022 Girls Basketball State All-Tournament Teams and MVPs, which represent the top performers from teams competing in the 1A-6A state tournaments March 3-5 at the Alamodome.

Cedar Park’s Gisella Maul and Gruver’s Bailey Maupin headline the UIL’s six All-Tournament MVP picks after each captured their second state championship.

Maul, a junior, was named the 5A MVP for the second consecutive season after leading the Timberwolves to a 59-31 victory over College Station in the state semifinals and a 45-40 double-overtime win against Frisco Memorial in the state title game.

Maupin, a Texas Tech commit, earned the 2A MVP honors after she helped power the Hounds to their second state title in three years with a 69-29 state semifinals win over San Saba and a 50-3 victory against Stamford in the 2A state championship game.
