Strickland cleared 13-9.25 to set the record
AUSTIN - Junction High School senior Ella Strickland defended her state title in the Class 2A girls pole vault at the UIL State Track Meet on Friday - and she broke her own state record in the process.
Strickland cleared 13-9.25 to set the record. She set the state meet record last season at 13-2 while competing for Sunray.
