The Tigers punched their ticket to Round 4 of the Class 2A Texas high school baseball playoffs for the second straight season in dramatic fashion Thursday night
BROCK, Texas - Anson faced its first major test of the postseason but escaped in a nail-biting 2-1 victory over Hamilton in a Region I quarterfinals matchup in the Class 2A Texas high school baseball playoffs.
A late offensive surge helped the Tigers walk off and beat the Bulldogs in their one-game playoff Thursday.
The loss ends Hamilton's season with a 28-6 record.
Anson, meanwhile, improved to 25-1 overall and 5-0 in postseason games this season. The victory also helps the Tigers advance to the regional semifinals for the second straight season.
Anson will face the winner of the three-game series between the New Deal Lions and New Home Leopards in the Region I-2A semifinals.
