Hallettsville beats Coahoma to capture Texas UIL 3A Softball State Championship
AUSTIN, Texas — Hallettsville and Coahoma both had to scrap their way into the UIL’s Class 3A Texas high school softball state championship with extra-inning semifinal victories Wednesday.
It was no surprise then when the Brahmas and Bulldogs state title game matchup turned into another fierce back-and-forth battle.
Hallettsville, however, delivered another clutch performance Thursday afternoon, as the Brahmas leaned on their crunch-time situational hitting to beat Coahoma 6-5 in the 3A UIL Softball State Championship at Red & Charline McCombs Field.

The victory also represents the first softball state championship in Hallettsville’s school history in the program’s fourth state tournament appearance.
