Westlake (4-0) is in search of its 45th consecutive win this week, but the Chaparrals finally looked human last week when they trailed at halftime for the first time this season.

They would eventually overcome that deficit to go on to a 35-20 win over rival Lake Travis, but the Chaparrals needed three second half fumble recoveries to spark the comeback win.

This is a team loaded with talent across the board. The offense is led by senior receivers Jaden Greathouse (Notre Dame commit) and Keaton Kubecka (Kansas commit), while the defense leans heavily on class of 2023 interior lineman TJ Shanahan (Texas A&M commit) and class of 2023 edge rusher Colton Vasek (Oklahoma commit).

Westlake had a close call last week, but look for the Chaparrals to get back on track this week with a big win over Del Valle.

Del Valle (1-4) has struggled to start the 2022 season, and that's putting things lightly.

Prior to their big win at Akins last week, the Cardinals were winless and had been outscored by a combined 204-54 score through their first four games, allowing at least six touchdowns in each of those games.

Last week's game may have been a sign that Del Valle is starting to figure things out, but the Cardinals beat a winless Akins team and will have a much tougher task ahead of them with Westlake this week.

However, if Del Valle can somehow pull off the upset, it will effectively ruin Westlake's chances of competing for a national title this season.

One of the best team's in the nation has an opportunity to put up a big score this week, and it will be a fun one to catch live.

Don't miss any of the action.
