With an exhilarating regular season and several exciting weeks of postseason action now in the books, the Lone Star State’s top high school softball squads are marching on to compete in the fourth round of the 2023 UIL softball playoffs.
The road to the UIL Softball State Championships in Austin continues after three intense, competitive rounds of postseason play have left the state’s eight most elite Class 1A teams standing heading into the regional finals of the Texas high school softball playoffs.

Here’s a closer look at game times and locations for every matchup this weekend (May 18-20) in the regional finals of the Class 1A UIL softball playoffs, as Round 4 of the 2023 Texas high school softball playoffs gets underway.

Editor’s Note: Head coaches of UIL playoff teams playing against each other may choose to compete in a one-game playoff or a best-of-three series to determine the winner during the regional finals round of the UIL softball playoffs.
Region I:
W4 Gail Borden County Coyotes (14-5) vs. W7 Hermleigh Cardinals (18-5)
Game 1 — 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 25th, at Lubbock Christian Univ.
Game 2 — 6 p.m. on Friday, May 26th, at Lubbock Christian Univ.
Game 3 — 30 minutes after Game 2 (If Necessary)
Region II:
W12 Blum Bobcats (17-8) vs. W15 Dodd City Hornets (6-10-1)
One Game Playoff — Dodd City 6, Blum 3 (Thursday, May 18th)
Dodd City wins series; advances to state semifinals/Class 1A UIL Softball State Tournament.
Region III:
W20 Neches Tigers (13-3) vs. R23 Chester Yellowjackets (15-16)
Game 1 — 6 p.m. on Friday, May 19th, at Lufkin Hudson HS
Game 2 — 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 20th, at Lufkin Hudson HS
