The 2020-21 WIAA football season kicked off Friday with the Gig Harbor High School Tides hosting the Curtis High School Vikings in a 4A SPSL jamboree at Roy Anderson Field in Purdy.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, football was pushed to February - and welcomed snowy conditions in the greater Puget Sound area.

Both teams ran approximately 25-30 controlled-scrimmage plays, and the varsity squads finished up in 45 minutes.
