Crosstown rivals Rogers and Emerald Ridge were two of the first teams to take the newly-minted outdoor basketball court at the Washington State Fairgrounds on Wednesday.

PUYALLUP - Crosstown rivals Rogers and Emerald Ridge were two of the first teams to take the newly-minted outdoor basketball court at the Washington State Fairgrounds on Wednesday.
With Pierce County still in Phase 2 of the state's COVID-19 reopening plan, coaches and administrators got creative and quickly put together an outdoor basketball venue in one of the open air show arenas at the fairgrounds.
Led by Jenai Ancheta (17 points) and Allyson Pettit (13 points) the Rogers girls basketball team beat Emerald Ridge 56-46. Here are photos from the game:
