Photos: Centerfielder-turned-cornerback Donte Grant sparks Puyallup's breakaway from Mount Si in round-of-32 showdown
Grant takes two interceptions to the house, both 68 yards, and the Vikings leave with a 35-14 victory over the 4A KingCo Wildcats.
SNOQUALMIE - Donte Grant is the standout centerfielder on the Puyallup High School baseball team - and possible future big leaguer.
He knows a thing or two about breaking on the ball.
Well, it was Grant's instincts in football that lit up Mount Si on Saturday night. His pair of third-quarter interception returns for touchdowns broke up the Vikings' 35-14 victory over the host Wildcats in a Class 4A round-of-32 playoff game.
His second 68-yard score gave Puyallup a 28-7 lead.
Ryan Cramer had 73 yards on 20 carries, scoring twice for the Vikings.
