SBLive’s final Washington high school boys basketball power rankings, by classification (Feb.21)

Districts championship nets were cut down and the regional fields, seeded by a committee for the first time, are set.

The fields are set and the regional rounds are upon us. Here are SBLive's power rankings by classification for the last time in the 2021-22 basketball season.

Throughout the season, these weekly rankings, organized by SBLive staff, have prioritized the "human element” as a determining factor in an effort to smooth over any blind spots of computer rankings. So, momentum, injuries and the many unforeseen bumps in the season — COVID-19-related or otherwise — are taken into consideration.

The inaugural seeding committees released the seeds and matchups for the regional and state rounds of Hardwood Classic Sunday. The committee, made up of coaches and athletic directors,ad the freedom to utilize a wide range resources, such as computer rankings (i.e. the WIAA RPI and Evans Rankings), SBLive‘s coaches poll and the Associated Press media poll.

Teams that did not qualify for the regional round due to district seeding were not disqualified from these rankings.

Editor's note: SBLive reporters Andy Buhler and Todd Milles were involved with the seeding committees in an input-only, non-voting capacity.
