SPOKANE, Wash. — For the first time in two years, the 1B/2B Washington high school girls state tournaments got off and running Wednesday morning with eight teams in each classification playing elimination games for a spot in the quarterfinals.

The 1B games are scheduled for the morning, 2B in the afternoon.

Here is a breakdown from each game in the 2B bracket. Stay with SBLive all week for updates.

2B Girls

Final: No. 6 Lake Roosevelt 63, No. 11 Rainier 43

Up next: No. 4 Okanogan on Thursday at 9 a.m.

It wasn’t a pretty shooting performance for the Raiders, but with a 53-32 advantage on the boards, their efficiency was able to take a back seat as they eliminated the Mountaineers

Lake Roosevelt shot 35% from the field and 28% from 3, but they took 17 more shots than Rainier.

Cylia St. Pierre led the Raiders with 25 points with four 3-pointers and Audrey Hansen added 14 points, while Zalissa Finley had nine points with a game-high 15 rebounds.

Bryn Beckman led Rainier with 16 points and nine rebounds.

Final: No. 2 Warden, No. 10 Wahkiakum 40

Up next: No. 1 La Conner on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

It was 20-19 at half in favor of Wahkiakum, but the Cougars pulled away from the Mules in the third

quarter, thanks to a big quarter from Jaryn Madsen who finished with a game-high 17 points and seven rebounds.

Courtney Carlson scored a team-high 10 points and five rebounds.

Both teams struggled from the floor, shooting a combined 36% from the floor and 22% from behind the arc.

Warden didn’t have a big advantage on the boards, but dominated on the offensive end with 11 board turning into many second-chance opportunities.

Final: Raymond 65, Mabton 44

Up next: No. 3 Colfax on Thursday at 12:15 p.m.

Kyra Gardner scored 30 points on 12-of-23 shooting as the 5-foot-11 post was involved in seemingly every Seagull point, adding seven assists.

She was too much for the Vikings to deal with as they struggled to find the bottom of the net, shooting 27%, while Raymond shot almost 50%.

Raymond also held a 45-27 edge on the glass.

Esmerelda Sanchez led Mabton with 10 points.

Final: No. 8 Chief Leschi 53, No. 9 Adna 42

Up next: No. 7 Liberty on Thursday at 2 p.m.

The Pirates attempted a fourth quarter comeback, but a 42-24 deficit was too much to make up.

Chief Leschi allowed Tala Michell to carry it as the junior guard poured in 28 points on 50% shooting from the floor. She added 10 rebounds and had five steals.

The difference was from beyond the arc as the Warriors shot almost 50% while Adna hovered around 25%. The Pirates were led by Faith Wellander’s 13 points.

Both teams played their starters for a major majority of the game.
