Watch: Mike Bethea reacts to Rainier Beach's WIAA Class 3A state semifinal win over Mt. Spokane

The longtime Rainier Beach coach has a chance to win his ninth WIAA state championship on Saturday when the No. 4 Vikings take on No. 2 Auburn

TACOMA, Wash. — Four-seeded Rainier Beach will make its fourth appearance in the Class 3A state championship in the past eight seasons on Saturday at the Tacoma Dome.

The Vikings took down No. 7 Mt. Spokane 53-50 in the semifinals on Friday behind a suffocating defensive effort, led by senior guard DeMar Johnson, who finished with 17 points and a near-tournament record eight steals.

Beach takes on No. 2 Auburn Saturday at 7 p.m. The game will be streamed on the NFHS Network (subscription required) and SBLive will provide live stats and play-by-play updates, in addition to stories, highlights, and photos, which will be on SBLive's Washington homepage after the game.

SBLive caught up with Bethea, who will go for his ninth state title Saturday, after Friday's game. Watch that interview above.
