HILLSBORO, Ore. — Soon-to-be Washington State commits Lauren Glazier and Kyra Gardner combined for 44 points and Woodinville's standout back court of Tatum Thompson and Veronica Sheffey shined in one last go on the high school stage, leading Team Washington past Team Oregon in the WAVOR interstate all-star game on Sunday.
Glazier took home MVP honors for the game, which Washington won 126-91 at Liberty High School in Oregon, pushing the Washington team's all-time series advantage to 17-9. Washington assisted on 37 of its 52 made baskets and shot 55 percent from the field.
Thompson, a Boise State signee, scored 17 points and connected on 8 of 12 shot attempts to get there. Her back court mate and close friend Veronica Sheffey (San Diego) added 12 points and game-high nine assists. The tandem led Woodnville to its first WIAA Class 4A state title on March 5.
It was the first time the event, formerly known as the Northwest Shootout, was played since 2019. Head to the top of the page for full game highlights.
