Skyview softball P Maddie Milhorn voted the WaFd Bank Washington High School Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to Skyview softball pitcher Maddie Milhorn for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Washington High School Athlete of the Week for March 28-April 3!

Two outings, two victories against Clark County foes. The freshman struck out 14 in seven innings in a win over Prairie, and 11 in five innings in a win over Camas. In both games, she gave up a combined three hits and allowed no earned runs.

Milhorn received 44.17% of the total vote, beating out Anacortes' Staely Moore who finished second with 24%. Lynden's Lane Simonsen finished third with 11.73% Bishop Blanchet's Ella Yerkes finished fourth with 4.31%. There were over 45,000 votes tallied this week!

Ella Yerkes, Bishop Blanchet softball: The junior left-handed pitcher and first baseman threw a no-hitter and struck out 17 batters in seven innings pitched across a three-game Metro League win span. At the plate, Yerkes dominated as well - going 7 for 8 with a home run, a double, and 10 RBIs.

Mckenna Richer, Lake Stevens softball: The freshman had a grand slam, a solo home run and six RBIs against Cascade. Richer also totaled three hits and one RBI across a two-game span against Arlington and Stanwood.

Jaelynn Carrier & Selina Perez, Yelm girls tennis: Carrier and Perez went 3-0 in doubles league play last week, and are also undefeated on the season.

Cassandra Atkins, Federal Way girls track and field: The Eagles are cornering the market in the jumps. The sophomore posted the top Washington mark in the long jump (18 feet, 11 inches) at the Arnie Young Invite.

Brooke Blocker, Eatonville softball: The junior catcher hit three home runs with four RBIs and four runs scored in the Cruisers’ 10-0 victory over Elma in 1A Evergreen action.

Lily Case, Ellensburg softball: The senior pitcher threw a five-inning no-hitter, striking out eight in a victory over Grandview, reports the Yakima Herald-Republic.

Ashlyn Cook, Juanita softball: The sophomore pushed her streak of games of three or more hits to five in a row with four hits against Garfield, and three hits against Mercer Island, which included a home run.

Kyra Gardner, Raymond girls basketball: The WSU signee was a high scorer in the WAVOR all-star game in Portland with 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting with eight rebounds, five steals and four assists in the Washington team’s victory.

JaiCieonna Gero-Holt, Emerald Ridge girls track and field: In her high school invitational debut, this Jaguars’ ninth-grader ripped off a state-leading mark of 5 feet, 10 inches in the girls high jump at the Liberty Invite.

Lauren Glazier, Mount Si girls basketball: The rangy center was named the WAVOR game MVP with 20 points and nine rebounds in the Washington team’s win.

Macy Marquardt, Kennewick girls track and field: The Lions’ senior distance runner ran a personal-best 10:33.39 at a Mid-Columbia Conference track-meet to take over the state lead in the girls 3,200-meter run. She is also No. 2 in the 1,600.

Hana Moll, Capital girls track and field: A week after watching her twin sister, Amanda, set the national girls pole vault record, this Cougars’ junior grabbed the state lead in the 100 hurdles with a personal-record 14.81 seconds at the Arnie Young Invite. She is the only girl to post a sub-15-second time.

Jonah Aase, Meridian baseball: The freshman lefty fueled a 4-3 win over Lynden, striking out 10 batters opposite four hits conceded in a complete game performance, per The Cascadia Daily News.

Sam Boyle, Columbia River baseball: The left-handed Washington commit struck out nine batters and gave up two hits in four innings to secure a key 2A Greater St. Helens League win over Ridgefield.

Grant Cunningham, Seattle Prep baseball: Tossed a complete game shutout to secure a 1-0 win over Metro League opponent O’Dea. He struck out eight and allowed three hits in seven innings.

Lucas Dahl, Napavine boys track & field: Won four events at an eight-school home meet: the 100-meter dash with a season-best 11.20, the 200 in 23.37, the long jump (10 feet, 8.5 inches) and the 4x100 relay, in which he was the anchor, reported The Chronicle of Centralia.

Alexander Magana, Toppenish boys soccer: Second half hat trick fueled a comeback 5-1 victory over Wapato, as reported by the Yakima Herald-Republic.

Jeremiah Nubbe, Rainier boys track & field: Didn’t break his PR in the discus, but still managed the best throw in the nation this season in an eight-team meet at Napavine, tossing it 202 feet, 7.5 inches.

Damian Gama, Eisenhower baseball: Went 3 for 4 at the plate with a pair of doubles and three RBIs in the second of a double-header against Davis, each of which Ike won on a walk-off, per the Yakima Herald-Republic.

Baylor Larrabee, Ferndale boys golf: Won the Birger Solberg Invite at Bellingham Golf and Country Club after shooting a 69, per The Cascadia Daily News.

Landen Hatchett, Ferndale baseball: The Power 5 football prospect went 3 for 3 with two home runs in a 13-5 win over Meridian.

Lane Simonsen, Lynden baseball: Struck out 14 batters and gave up four hits, two earned runs and three walks in a seven-inning start to lead the Lions to a 4-2 win over Squalicum.

Staely Moore, Anacortes baseball: The junior threw a complete game shut out with eight strikeouts and had two triples at the plate in a 3-0 win against Burlington-Edison.

Dylan Darling, Central Valley boys basketball: The WSU commit scored 22 points to lead Team Washington to a 128-98 win over Team Oregon at the 'WAVOR' boys all-star game.
