KENT - Sophomore Sarah Wright had a day for the ages - and the Kentwood Conquerors will be taking plenty of confidence with them to next week's Class 4A state softball championships in Spokane.

Wright threw a no-hitter, striking out 18 - and also hit two home runs - as the Conquerors stunned 4A GSHL champion Skyview, 6-0, in the West Central/Southwest bi-district title game Saturday afternoon at Kent Service Fields.

Wright smashed a two-run home run to left field give Kentwood a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning. An inning later, she connected on a three-run blast as the Conquerors broke open the game.

Lauren Rivera had three hits for the Conquerors, including an RBI single.
