Southridge football player Lucien Cone voted the WaFd Bank Washington High School Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to Southridge WR/DB Lucien Cone for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Washington High School Athlete of the Week for Oct. 3-8!

The senior athlete did it all for the Suns in their non-league victory over Lewis and Clark. He totaled 377 all-purpose yards (No. 2 in school history) - 254 rushing yards, 59 receiving yards and a 69-yard punt return for a score - and a school-record five touchdowns.

Cone received nearly 50.9% of the vote, beating out Glacier Peak football player River Lien, who finished second with 37.0%.

WASHINGTON NOMINEES

Kaleb Ames, Montesano football: Did it all in Montesano's upset over top-ranked Eatonville with two receiving touchdowns, an interception and a fumble recovery.

Carson Beckt, Stanwood football: Scored in just about every way you can for the Spartans with a receiving, rushing and defensive touchdown to go with 287 all-purpose yards.

Evan Berdan, Wenatchee football: The defensive lineman put on his own personal block party last week, with four blocked kicks (three punts, one PAT). Also had eight tackles (two TFL, two sacks).

Andie Buckley, Columbia River girls soccer: Scored three goals and notched one assist in the Rapids’ 8-1 win over Mark Morris.

Anna Callahan, Skyline girls cross country: At the Nike Hole in the Wall Invite at Lakewood High School, Callahan came out on top with a first-place time of 17:32.6.

Malachi Durant, Puyallup football: Had 11 catches for a season-high 198 yards, including two important touchdowns in a win over Olympia. One of them on a 70-yard catch-and-run for the Vikings.

Teryn Gardner, Mead girls soccer: The junior scored the game-winning goal in overtime lifting the Panthers over Ridgeline.

Gabarri Johnson, Lincoln of Tacoma football: Another week of Johnson torching defenses. This time, he accounted for 424 yards of total offense and all seven of Lincoln's touchdowns in a win over Stadium.

River Lien, Glacier Peak football: The senior signal caller was nearly perfect - literally - by completing 19 o 20 passes for 313 yards and six touchdowns in a 4A Wesco win over Kamiak

Jayden Limar, Lake Stevens football: Back on the field once again, Limar made the most of this touches racking up 180 yards on the ground and five touchdowns.

Zach Munson, Sehome boys cross country: In the biggest cross country race of the weekend, Munson came out on top with a time of 14:55.5.

Gunnar Trachte, Enumclaw football: The Hornets' quarterback completed 14 of 17 passes for 250 yards and five touchdowns in a 2A SPSL win over Franklin Pierce.

Jeremiah Wright, Lynden Christian football: Tallied three touchdowns (two passing, one rushing) in the Lyncs' huge 30-7 top-10 win over Nooksack Valley.
