Eastside Catholic football player Masen Uribe voted the WaFd Bank Washington High School Athlete of the Week
Congratulations to Eastside Catholic RB Masen Uribe for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Washington High School Athlete of the Week for Oct. 17-22!
In a matchup of standout 3A Metro League tailbacks, Uribe stood tallest with his career-high 219 yards and a touchdown as the Crusaders clinched the league title with a win over Rainier Beach in Sammamish. His 84-yard score down the left sideline gave Eastside Catholic a 14-0 lead.
Uribe received 61.0% of the vote, beating out Anacortes football player (and previous winner) Brock Beaner, who finished second with 33.3%.

Brock Beaner, Anacortes football: Six tackles for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble and one pass break up for the Seahawks in a 27-6 win over Burlington-Edison.
Blake Borup, Eastlake football: The leading rusher in 4A KingCo busted out for a career-high 302 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 24 carries in the Wolves' win over Bothell.
Anna Callahan, Skyline girls cross country: Not only did the junior cruise to a 22-second victory at the 4A KingCo championships, her 5-kilometer time of 17 minutes, 23.6 seconds is the top overall time in the state by more than 15 seconds.
Skyler Cassel, West Valley of Yakima football: The state's leading passer went bonkers - 446 yards and five touchdowns - to lead the Rams to a victory over reigning 4A CBBN champion Moses Lake.
Emry Claeys, Meridian volleyball: Junior logged 29 kills, 11 digs and one ace in a five-set victory over Nooksack Valley last week.
Ashton Demarest, Napavine football: On the list again as he did all his damage in the first half with one passing touchdown on 8 of 11 passing for 141 yards. Also had 85 yards on the ground for three scores in a win over Raymond-South Bend.
Cole Edwards, North Kitsap football: Threw as many touchdowns as he did incompletions going 9-of-13 passing for 128 yards and four touchdowns in a rout of Sequim. Also ran in another score.
Breydan Fisher, Washington football: Brought down seven passes for 187 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner with 17.9 seconds to go in the game, in the Patriots’ win over Steilacoom.
T.J. Haberman, Mount Spokane football: Completed 15 of 22 passes for 262 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winner in the fourth quarter, to upend Gonzaga Prep.
Jayden Limar, Lake Stevens football: Ran all over the Kamiak defense to the tune of 239 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries in another blowout win for Lake Stevens.
Parker Mady, Curtis football: Sophomore receiver had an 83-yard punt return for a touchdown, two catches for 75 yards and a score, a 1-yard touchdown run and also caused a fumble in the Vikings' win over South Kitsap.
Jake Mason, Ferndale football: Made things difficult all night for the Stanwood offense with 9.5 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack, a forced fumble and one blocked field goal in Ferndale’s upset win.
Sam Merriman, Bishop Blanchet football: The junior rushed for a career-high 321 yards and three touchdowns in the team's 36-28 Metro League win over Ballard.
Kyler Ronquillo, Yelm football: Dangerous in many ways, Ronquillo rushed for 126 yards and one touchdown, hauled in a 20-yard touchdown reception and had an 86-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to clinch the 3A SSC with a win over Peninsula.
Ella Schoene, La Center volleyball: Was all over the court and led the Wildcats in a 3-0 win over Columbia-White Salmon with 20 kills and 12 digs.
Landon Taylor, Clarkston football: His 74-yard punt return for a touchdown with less than three minutes to go ended up being the decisive score in Clarkston’s 24-17 win over Shadle Park.
