Based on conversations with coaches and statewide media, SBLive ranked the top 10 teams across the state of Washington in Class 2B girls basketball heading into the 2022-23 season:

CLASS 2B GIRLS RANKINGS

1. OKANOGAN

Finished third a year ago at state, and not only has four sharp-shooting seniors, talented ninth grader Jacey Boesel ready to take off running point.

2. WARDEN

Yes, defending state champions graduated five seniors. But cupboard isn't bare, and junior Lauryn Madsen could be best player in classification.

3. COLFAX

Offensive juggernaut from a year ago still has uber-talented 6-2 sophomore Brynn McGaughy back, but team will win games in different ways this winter.

4. RAINIER

State-tournament participant last March already had enough returning pieces for another run - and also added playmaking point guard Angelica Askey.

5. LA CONNER

Longtime coach Scott Novak is gone, but front-line nucleus (G Josie Harper, F Ellie Marble) remains. Braves will be more post-oriented in 2022-23.

6. LAKE ROOSEVELT

Fresh off its first state-playoff win in more than a decade, this junior-fueled group wants more in 2022-23. Senior Aaliyah Marchand can play anywhere.

7. ADNA

Model of consistency in Southwest District, and Pirates return two all-league seniors in guard Brooklyn Loose and forward Karlee Von Moos.

8. MABTON

Pure chaos! Vikings will run, trap - and fire off 3-pointers in bunches. Point guard Alana Zavala a year older after leading team in scoring as eighth grader.

9. NAPAVINE

Tigers are barreling forward in Shane Schutz's second stint. Team returns all five starters, led by seniors Danielle Tupuola and transfer Morgan Hamilton.

10. ST. GEORGE'S

Second entrant from the 2B Northeast returns three all-league players, including senior Margreit Galow, a slick-shooting combo guard who scores often.

FIRST THREE OUT: Forks, Liberty of Spangle, Raymond.
