The senior forward ties a Titans' mark with 41 points in a 60-47 Class 4A regional-round win over Sumner

BATTLE GROUND, Wash. - It just doesn't seem right if the Union Titans aren't competing for a WIAA boys basketball championship in the Tacoma Dome.

And they will be back once again starting Wednesday.

Behind Yanni Fassilis' 41 program record-matching points, the 4A GSHL runner-up pulled away late for a 60-47 Class 4A regional-round victory Saturday over Sumner at Battle Ground High School.

Up next for Union - 4A Mid-Columbia Conference winner Richland, which lost to Curtis on Friday night.

Kaden Kastberg sank four second-half 3-pointers to keep it close for Sumner, but the Titan finished the game on an 8-0 run over the final 2:11.

Fassilis scored 25 of Union's 31 first-half points. The Titans will be making their eight consecutive appearance in the state tournament in Tacoma.
