The schedule organized by classification is below:

CLASS 4A

Third/Fourth

No. 5 Tahoma 12, No. 2 Puyallup 1

Puyallup's offensive struggles from the semifinal round carried over to Saturday with the Vikings managing just four hits.

Tahoma senior Carson Ohland blasted a 3-run home run to put the game out of reach in the fourth.

Championship game

No. 1 Eastlake vs. No. 11 Sumner

It only took a little more than one full inning for Eastlake to chase Sumner starting pitcher Chase Kreuger in the Class 4A state championship game and the Wolves earned their first title in a 13-1 win over the Spartans.

Junior catcher Jack Edmunds brought in the game’s first run with an RBI double in the first. The Wolves added two more runs in the next inning on an RBI single by designated hitter Tyler Griffin that scored two.

Sumner had a golden opportunity in the bottom of the fourth to get on the board after Jake Bresnahan, Davis Jaquez and Jaxen Mentink all singled, but the next three hitters for the Spartans were unable to bring them in.

Eastlake pitcher Dylan Skolfield struck out the final two to end the threat.

“He buckled down, he got tough, bowed his neck and just went after them,” Eastlake coach Frank Smith said of Skolfield. “Credit to him and all the things he’s able to do and has done.”

An RBI single from Blake Borup and wild pitch pushed two more runs in for Eastlake to stretch the lead to 5-0.

Sumner scored its first run of the game in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI groundout from Jake Bresnahan.

Following an eight-run explosion in the seventh by the Wolves, Skolfield pitched into the seventh inning, retiring the first batter before reaching his pitch count.

He ended the game with six strikeouts and just the one run given up.

Smith called getting the program’s first state title special.

“It’s a lot of people, things and steps in place to get here,” Smith said. “A lot of people have come here to do this and to finish this way is just incredible.”

CLASS 3A

No. 9 O'Dea 8, No. 3 West Seattle 7

After being shut out the in the semifinals, the O'Dea offense showed up in a big way against third-seeded West Seattle.

The Fighting Irish pulled off the upset win over the Wildcats to secure a third-place finish in the Class 3A tournament.

Championship game

Lincoln of Seattle, 2023 Washington high school baseball champions

No. 2 Lincoln of Seattle 6, No. 4 Lake Washington 3

Lincoln coach Ray Atkinson never imagined the school would reopen after it closed its doors in 1981.

He also never thought the school's first baseball championship would be coming just a little more than three years after its reopening.

Both of those things came true.

A 6-3 win over Lake Washington in the Class 3A championship game gave the Lincoln faithful plenty to cheer for.

Atkinson, a three-sport athlete at Lincoln until its closing, said coming back home and winning a state championship means everything to him.

"I had a goal to win a state championship, but that's the competitiveness, that's what you want to do, you want to build," Atkinson said. "To be able to do it in four years with the group you started with is super cool."

The Lynx struck first against the Kangaroos in what turned to be the decisive third inning. Senior Bjorn Johnson laid down a bunt and a throwing error allowed Erik Petrie to score from first. Lincoln added five more runs, laid down four successful bunts in the inning and blew the game open.

Lake Washington got three of those runs back right away in the bottom half of the inning, but that's all the offense would get the rest of the way.

Lincoln pitcher Nicholas Saelens threw a complete game, gave up just five hits and struck out five.

"(I wanted to) attack and make (Lake Washington) hit the ball," Saelens said. "I struggled a little bit with that in the first couple of innings – I was overthrowing, I was excited."

CLASS 2A

Third/Fourth

No. 3 W.F. West 5, No. 1 Selah 4

Deacon Meller stole home in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Bearcats (21-6) the victory.

Meller was initially called out, leading to the ejection of two W.F. West coaches for arguing the call before the umpires met to reverse the call. The Vikings (22-4) had rallied from a three-run deficit to tie the score 4-4 in the fifth..

Championship game

No. 2 Tumwater 2, No. 5 Lynden 1

Brayden Orem singled home Andrew Collins to give the Thunderbirds a walk-off win and their second straight state championship.

It was the second 2-1 win in the seventh for Tumwater (24-4) at Joe Martin Stadium. Lynden (22-7) was trying to make it a clean sweep of the big three championships – football, basketball and baseball.

Luke Moisant and Lleyton Daily combined on the pitching effort and Keller Standish and Adam Haight had RBIs in a two-run first inning to lead the Eagles (20-7) past the Bulldogs (22-5).

The Eagles (22-2) jumped on the Rangers (24-3) with four runs in the first inning and sophomore Langguth tossed a one-hitter to lead Klahowya to its first state championship.
