Katie Fiso commits to Oregon Ducks; Highly-touted guard was Washington State Player of Year

Fiso led Garfield to third straight WIAA state title, averaged 22 points per game as junior

Katie Fiso, a four-star point guard and one of the top high school girls basketball prospects in 2024, announced her commitment to the Oregon Ducks on Monday.

She was SBLive's Washington State High School Girls Basketball Player of the Year as a junior last season after leading Garfield (Seattle, Washington) to its third consecutive WIAA Class 3A state title in March.

Fiso, who averaged 22 points per game as a junior, is the ESPN HoopGurlz's No. 34 prospect in the country in the class of 2024.

The first commit in Oregon coach Kelly Graves' 2024 class, Fiso held offers from UCLA, Arizona, Oregon State and Gonzaga, among others.

She has thrived under pressure and on big stages in high school, having led Garfield to its record-third straight title. When she faces highly-touted competition, she rises to the occasion.

"I personally am a dawg," Fiso told SBLive in March. "I love that motivation."

Her older sister Meghan Fiso is a junior forward at San Diego State and was also a Washington state player of the year and a top-40 prospect coming out of high school and led Garfield to a state championship in 2019.
