National top 25 high school wrestling rankings for every weight class (2/29/2024)
Two more weekends.
That is all that is left for the 2023-2024 High School Wrestling Season. All but two states will have completed their seasons when the mats are rolled up on Saturday evening.
Next week will see Ohio and Pennsylvania put their school singlets away.
This weekend the big states throwing down are Florida, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, and a single class gauntlet that is not for the faint of heart in New Jersey.
Maryland and New Jersey start their action on Thursday. All conclude on Saturday.
Minnesota has their dual meet state finals on Thursday, and then immediately pivots to the individual tournament on Friday and Saturday.
We have a new No. 1 at 144 where Central Mountain’s Luke Simcox, the previous No. 3 wrestler, beat Pierson Manville of State College, 3-2 UTB, in Pennsylvania’s AAA Northwest Region finals last weekend.
The California’s single class state tournament shook some weight classes up big-time, none more so than 150, where previous No. 2 Miguel Estrada (Frontier) suffered two losses in placing fourth and tumbled down to the No. 19 spot now, directly behind Los Gatos’ EJ Parco, who beat Estrada in the consolation finals. Estrada was a defending two-time state champion.
