Congratulations to Conway boys soccer forward Will Childers for being voted SBLive’s Arkansas High School Athlete of the Week for May 9-15!

The junior scored the winning goal in the 67th minute in the Wampus Cats’ 2-1 victory over Little Rock Catholic in the Class 6A quarterfinals.

Childers received 44.48% of the vote, beating out Fort Smith Northside's Cesar Perez who finished second with 32.52%. Cabot's Akayla Banard finished third with 10.38% and Nashville's Maci McJunkins finished fourth with 5.15%. There were over 20,000 votes tallied this week!

Tony Woodie, Bentonville baseball

The junior hit a 3-run home run in the seventh inning to lift Bentonville to a 7-3 victory over Springdale Har-Ber in the Class 6A semifinals.

Anderson Hodges, Andrew Westphal, Bryson Hodges and Ky Bickford, Mountain Home boys track

The foursome set a new Meet of Champs record of 7:46.36 in the 4x800 relay.

Akayla Banard, Cabot softball

The junior struck out 12 in a complete-game 9-0 victory over Rogers Heritage in the Class 6A quarterfinals. She struck out 13 in a complete-game, 2-1 victory over Rogers while allowing 2 hits and 3 walks.

Jackson Tucker, Conway boys soccer

The junior stopped 2 of the 4 penalty kicks in a 4-2 victory over Bentonville in the Class 6A semifinals. He also made several big saves, including a deflected shot off his own defender in the 54th minute.

Kennedy Dykes, Korlynn Hall, Laci Gartside and Kinleigh Hall, Springdale girls track

The foursome set a new Meet of Champs record in 1:41.02 in the 4x200 relay.

Micah McMillan, Valley View girls soccer

The junior scored 3 goals in a 5-2 victory over De Queen in the Class 4A state tournament. She scored 1 goal in a 2-1 victory over Harrison in the semifinals.

Hugh Hill, Conway baseball

The junior pitched 6 innings in relief allowing 1 hit while striking out 9 on 79 pitches in a 3-0 victory over Fort Smith Southside in the Class 6A quarterfinals.

DeAndra Burns Jr., LeVictor Livingston, Quez Waller and Jackie Washington, El Dorado boys track.

The foursome set a new Meet of Champs record in 1:27.42 in the 4x200 relay.

Lexi Davis, Valley View softball

The senior hit 2 home runs in a 11-3 victory over Harrison in the Class 4A semifinals.

Calvin Hargis, Jonesboro boys soccer

The junior made 11 saves in a 3-0 victory over El Dorado in the Class 5A state tournament.

Hannah Estes, Fayetteville girls track and field

The junior won the 100 hurdles (14.82) and the pole vault at 12-0 at the Meet of Champs.

Kayla Hurley, Bentonville girls soccer

The sophomore scored twice in a 3-0 victory over North Little Rock in the Class 6A quarterfinals.

Hunter Alexander, Bigelow baseball

The senior went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles in a 10-4 victory over McCrrory in the Class 2A semifinals.

DeAndra Burns Jr., El Dorado boys track and field

The junior won the long jump (22-11 1/2) and was on the state-meet, record-setting 4x200 relay team.

Elana Scott, Benton softball

The senior pitch a no-hitter in a 10-0 victory over Van Buren in the Class 5A semifinals. She also had 2 hits and 4 RBI with a double and scored 3 runs.

Will Childers, Conway boys soccer

The junior scored the winning goal in the 67th minute in the Wampus Cats’ 2-1 victory over Little Rock Catholic in the Class 6A quarterfinals.

Juliah Rodgers, Jessieville girls track and field

The junior won the 800 (2:1833) and 1,600 (5:13.26) at the Meet of Champs.

Gabie Eddins, Searcy girls soccer

The junior scored 3 goals in a 6-0 victory over El Dorado in the 5A quarterfinals.

Chase Armstrong, Marion baseball

The senior allowed 5 hits in a complete-game shutout on 92 pitches in a 7-0 victory over Sheridan in the Class 5A semifinals.

Adrian Carranco, Beebe boys track and field

The senior won the triple jump (45-10) and 400 (48.44) at the Meet of Champs.

Maci McJunkins, Nashville softball

The senior pitched a no-hitter in a 10-0 victory over Stuttgart in the Class 4A semifinals. She struck out 11 and retired the first 13 batters of the game.

Cesar Perez, Fort Smith Northside boys soccer

The junior recovered from an injury in the 17th minute to score the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Rogers Heritage in the Class 6A semifinals.

Raghan Allen, Conway girls track and field

The junior won the 100 (12.01) and 200 (24.77) at the Meet of Champs.

Rosa Centeno, Fort Smith Northside girls soccer

Centeno scored twice a 4-0 victory over Rogers in the Class 6A quarterfinals.

Levi Lang, Harding Academy baseball

The junior had 3 hits including a home run in a 10-5 victory over Central Arkansas Christian in the Class 3A quarterfinals.

Ava Johnson, Rogers softball

The sophomore struck out 13 and did not allow a walk in a 2-0 victory over Conway in the Class 6A quarterfinals.

Abbi Brookrerson, Brookland girls soccer

The sophomore scored 1 goal and had 1 assist in a 2-1 victory over Dardanelle in the Class 4A state tournament.

Eder Leal, Jonesboro boys soccer

The senior scored 2 goals and had 1 assist in a 9-8 loss on penalty kicks to El Dorado in the 5A quarterfinals.
