Ryan Howard resigns after one season at Central Arkansas Christian

Howard led the Mustangs to 9 wins in 2023

NORTH LITTLE ROCK – Ryan Howard is out at Central Arkansas Christian as head football coach after one season.

The move was announced via a press release from the school that Howard "has resigned from his position to pursue other opportunities."

"We want to thank Coach Howard for stepping into his first head coaching position and guiding our team to a playoff run," CAC athletic director Hayden Cruce said. "We are grateful for his efforts with our young men, and we wish him success moving forward."

Howard came to CAC last winter after serving on Arkansas native Eli Drinkwitz's staff at the University of Missouri. He helped the Mustangs finish 9-3 and win the 4A-4 conference title and the school's first playoff victory since 2019.

Per the release, CAC "will begin a search for its new head coach immediately."

"Our football program has a proud history of success and a foundation for continued excellence," Cruce added. "With a talented and experienced team returning this fall and a supportive community of parents and fans, the future of Mustang football is bright. We are excited to find the next leader of our program."
