SAN JOSE -- The 2020 CIF State Basketball Championships were canceled last week amid coronavirus concerns, but there many memorable moments across the state as teams made runs through the section and state playoff brackets.

One of those moments came on Saturday, March 7 when Bishop O'Dowd beat Archbishop Mitty 73-60 in the Northern California Open Division regional semifinals. With uncertainty swirling around the state tournament, Bishop O'Dowd coach Lou Richie told his team to approach the game like a state championship. And the Dragons did just that.

Taj Phillips scored 19 points and freshman Jalen Lewis added 18 points and 8 rebounds as third-seeded O'Dowd rolled to its 18th consecutive victory. Here are photos from the game:
