Photos: Pooh Jeter holds life skills workshop for basketball players at Serra High School
High school basketball players from Brentwood, Cathedral, Crenshaw, Dorsey, Gardena, Gardena Serra, King/Drew and View Park attended Serra basketball alum Pooh Jeter's life skills workshop on Tuesday, July 2.
The event covered understanding the laws and what to do after being pulled over, as well as sexual consent. Jeter spoke along with Los Angeles Police Department officer Jason Anderson and attorney Jaaye Person-Lynn.
Jeter, the younger brother of world champion sprinter Carmelita Jeter, graduated from Serra in 2002. After playing for the University of Portland for four years he embarked on a professional basketball career that has taken him all over the world. Jeter, 35, currently plays for the Fujian Sturgeons of the Chinese Basketball Association.
