San Diego Section boys basketball Top 10 rankings: It's showdown week for No. 1 St. Augustine and No. 3 Cathedral Catholic
Here are Scorebook Live’s Top 10 rankings for San Diego Section high school boys basketball for the week of Jan. 13. Our San Diego Section basketball rankings are released weekly throughout the 2019-20 high school basketball season. The rankings are compiled by SB Live reporter Bodie DeSilva.
TOP 10 SAN DIEGO SECTION BOYS BASKETBALL RANKINGS
Week of Jan. 13, 2020
1. St. Augustine (16-3)
St. Augustine took down eighth-ranked Christian in their league opener and will host third-ranked Cathedral Catholic this week.
2. Foothills Christian (12-5)
The Knights are off to a 3-0 start in league after wins over Army-Navy and Orange Glen this week. They’ll play twice more this week.
3. Cathedral Catholic (13-5)
The Dons took down tenth-ranked San Diego by 39 points and opened league play with a 42-point win over La Jolla. They’ll travel to top-ranked St. Augustine on Tuesday.
4. Torrey Pines (13-4)
The Falcons beat Vista last week and open league play against Carlsbad and Mission Hills this week.
5. Mater Dei Catholic (12-3)
The Crusaders took down Mission Bay after an eleven-day layoff and will play three games over four days at the end of this week.
6. Poway (15-4)
Poway went 2-0 last week and begins Palomar League play this week.
7. Santa Fe Christian (13-5)
The Eagles took down Carlsbad and Bishop’s last week and will host Army-Navy and Orange Glen in league play this week.
8. Christian (15-3)
The Patriots lost to top-ranked St. Augustine for the second time this season and will go on the road for two league games this week.
9. Francis Parker (12-2)
The Lancers moved to 3-0 in the Coastal League this past week. They’ll host Bonita Vista and Orange Glen this week before traveling to Santa Fe Christian.
10. San Diego (12-5)
The Cavers followed up their loss to Cathedral Catholic with comfortable wins over Point Loma and Hoover.
