SUN VALLEY -- Village Christian stunned Heritage Christian 56-55 in an Olympic League boys basketball showdown Tuesday night.

Despite the absences of two key players who are currently day-to-day in Dillon Depina (illness) and Justin Rochelin (injury), Heritage Christian was still a heavy favorite and led by 10 in the second quarter.

The Crusaders came roaring back late in the first half to tie the game, and still trailed with under 10 seconds left before a layup by Thomas Luczak put them up one. They held on to win their first league matchup, and the rematch that will likely decide the Olympic League title is on February 6.

Pawell Mousaia led Village Christian with 19 and Jordan Fuller had 12. Skyy Clark led Heritage Christian with 15.
