No one had a better weekend than Long Beach Poly's Peyton Watson. The junior finished with 33 points on 10/16 shooting in a 68-48 demolition of Taft.

BEST FINISH

Birmingham beat Mayfair 83-80 in a thriller at the Rolling Hills Prep State Preview Classic on Saturday. Patriots' junior David Elliott hit the game-winning three-point shot with three seconds remaining.

BEST PLAY

Mayfair senior Josh Christopher can dunk with the best of 'em. He threw down a HUGE slam on Saturday against Birmingham.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Sierra Canyon had two boys basketball players selected to play in the McDonald's All American Game last week. Ziaire Williams and BJ Boston shared their thoughts on the honor after the Trailblazer's win over Windward.

"It's an honor, a blessing from the man above," Williams said. "It's just crazy how fast time flies. It's really a marathon and this is a true testament to how hard work pays off."

"It's a blessing that I can finish my high school career with this game to show people my talents and get better every day," Boston said.
