Scorebook Live's 2019-2020 All-Ventura County girls basketball teams
Here are Scorebook Live's 2019-2020 All-Ventura County girls basketball teams. Team success, statistics and strength of schedule were the primary criteria.
We also took into account the voting of the Ventura County Basketball Coaches Association (VCBCA), who put out first and second teams of 12 each. All seven of our first team members were also on the VCBCA's first team.
Defensive Player of the Year: C Omamoke Okah – Oaks Christian – FR.
The 6-3 C averaged over two blocks a game in just her freshman year. When she wasn't blocking shots, she was altering them for a top-two or top-three defense and team in the county.
Breakout Player of the Year: G Myla Scott – Hueneme – SO.
Scott averaged just over five points per game as a freshman before taking over as a sophomore, winning co-MVP of the Citrus Coast League and averaging 11.9 points, five rebounds, 4.3 assists, and two steals per game. The county's top PG prospect in the Class of 2022 was still getting back in the swing of things her freshman year after ACL surgery and she's still on the way up, as is the entire Hueneme program.
FIRST TEAM ALL-VENTURA COUNTY
G Allison Ha – Royal – JR.
One of the top under-the-radar guard prospects in the Southern Section, Ha averaged 21 points, 6.1 rebounds, five assists, and 2.8 steals per game.
G Alyssa Marin – Camarillo – SR.
The USCB commit was named the VCBCA's Player of the year, averaging 21.6 points, three rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 2.6 steals per game for the best team in Ventura County.
G Toni Thompson – Newbury Park – SR.
Thompson averaged 19.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.4 steals per game. Newbury Park struggled, but the fact that she was able to score at such a high level while shooting over 40% on a team without floor spacing or other playmakers makes it all the more impressive.
G Samantha Henley – Ventura – SR.
Henley averaged 14.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, a massive 5.8 assists, and 2.7 steals per game. She also hit 60 threes (nearly 80% of the team's total) at a lofty 38% clip. Ventura went under the radar all season but finished 23-7 and nearly knocked out powerhouse Fairmont Prep in the second round of the CIFSS 2-AA playoffs.
G/F Taylor Donaldson – Oaks Christian – SR.
The New Mexico State commit averaged 22.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, and four assists per game.
G/F Gabriella Jaquez – Camarillo – SO.
Jaquez averaged 20.3 points in addition to a team-high 13.3 rebounds and 3.2 steals per game. She also led Camarillo in blocks.
C/F Omamoke Okah – Oaks Christian – FR.
Okah averaged 14.6 points and 15.3 rebounds per game in addition to her aforementioned defensive impact.

SECOND TEAM ALL-VENTURA COUNTY
G Abria Laue – Grace Brethren – SR.
Laue was named First Team All-VCBCA.
G Myla Scott – Hueneme – SO.
Our Breakout Player of the Year was also in consideration for our First All-County Team and made the VCBCA's Second Team. She averaged 11.9 points, five rebounds, 4.3 assists, and two steals per game.
G Myesha Lumas – Oxnard – SR.
The First Team All-VCBCA honoree averaged 12.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, and was named the co-Player of the Year of the Pacific View League. She also averaged 2.8 SPG and was considered one of the top perimeter defenders in the County.
G Haylee Carpenter – St. Bonaventure – SR.
Carpenter was First Team All-VCBCA and averaged 15.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. She's one of SoCal's best spot-up shooters, hitting 99 threes at 36% even with defenses geared up to stop her from getting good looks from deep.
G Kaydn Mew – Buena – SR.
Mew scored 14.8 PPG and was a staunch perimeter defender averaging 1.8 SPG.
G Skylar Dillon – Pacifica (Oxnard) – SR.
Dillon packed the scoresheet with 15.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, four assists, and five steals per game on an excellent 49% FG.
C/F Julia Broms – Oak Park – SR.
Broms put up a big nightly line of 13.1 points, 12.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.6 steals, and 3.5 blocks per game.
C Amaya Fuentes – Ventura – SO.
Fuentes led Ventura with 15.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per game on a massive team-high 58% FG. She also led the team in blocks and was named Second Team All-VCBCA.
C Aliya DiMuro – Grace Brethren – SR.
The Cal Lutheran commit was named First Team All-VCBCA.

THIRD TEAM ALL-VENTURA COUNTY
G Navya Batra – Oak Park – JR.
One of the most underrated players in VC, Batra averaged 14.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 4.2 steals per game.
G Miranda Carabello – Simi Valley – SR.
Carabello averaged over 15 PPG and was named Second Team All-VCBCA.
G Maddison Rakestraw – Santa Clara – SR.
Rakestraw averaged 10.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, two assists, and 1.8 steals per game and was named Second Team All-VCBCA.
G Ciana Garcia – Santa Paula – SR.
Garcia averaged 15.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 2.9 steals per game on a team-high 42% FG. She made Second Team All-VCBCA.
G Jocel DeLeon – Camarillo – SR.
One of the most dangerous spot-up threats in SoCal, DeLeon averaged 9.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.9 steals per game. She led the team with 46% FG and hit 51 threes at a blistering 43% and made Second Team All-VCBCA.
G Jess Magallanes – Thousand Oaks – SR.
One of the most underrated players in the county, Magellan's emerged as a star scorer during a very successful season for the Lancers despite a lot of key players missing time.
G Lindsey Castillo – Westlake – SR.
The first of three Warriors on the Third Team, Castillo averaged 10.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and team-highs 3.5 assists and 2.9 steals per game. She made Second Team All-VCBCA.
G London Gamble – Westlake – SO.
Gamble was second on Westlake with 11.7 points, 2.7 assists, and 2.7 steals per game. She also averaged a team-high 8.4 RPG and led the team in blocks en-route to making Second Team All-VCBCA.
G Kaili Kraus – Hueneme – SR.
Kraus averaged 11.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and a team-high 3.3 steals per game. She was named Second Team All-VCBCA.
G/F Jordan Johnson – Hueneme – JR.
Johnson led the Vikings in scoring with 14.1 PPG, including 67 made threes, and also averaged 2.2 SPG.
F Sophie Graves – Royal – SO.
Graves was one of only a small handful of VC players to average a double-double, going for 11.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game.
F Abygail Hall – St. Bonaventure – SR.
Hall was another one of the very few to average double-double in the upper legion of Ventura County hoops. She posted 11.5 points and 10.8 rebounds a game, and also led the Seraphs in blocks.
F Mariah Elohim – Westlake – SO.
Elohim led Westlake with 14.6 points per game to go with 7.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. She was named Second Team All-VCBCA.
