Meet SBLive's 2022 All-San Diego Section Boys Basketball teams: St. Augustine's Jurian Dixon is Player of the Year

The Section wide teams were compiled by SBLive reporter Bodie DeSilva and include a Player of the Year.

With the 2022 California high school basketball season in the books, it's time to hand out some awards.

After covering dozens of games and talking to dozens of coaches across the Section this season, here are SBLive's Boys Basketball All-San Diego Section first and second teams. The Section wide teams were compiled by SBLive reporter Bodie DeSilva and include a Player of the Year.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR

G: Jurian Dixon - St. Augustine - Junior

Dixon started the season with a 30-point outing against his former team San Ysido and was consistent throughout. He led the Saints with 21 points in their Open Division championship win over San Ysidro and led all scorers with 27 points in the Saints' state playoff loss to Sierra Canyon.

ALL-SECTION FIRST TEAM

G: Devon Arlington - San Marcos - Senior

Devon Arlington

Arlington averaged 20 points, six rebounds, and five assists per game for the Knights and became the school's leading scorer in February. He finished his career with 2,009 points.

G: Sebastian Medina - San Ysidro - Senior

Medina knocked down 50 three-pointers this season, helping lead the Cougars into the Open Division championship game while averaging 21 points and six assists per game.

G: Jake Hall - Carlsbad - Freshman

Jake Hall Carlsbad

Hall averaged 22 points per game for the Division 1 champions, scoring double digits in 33 of 34 games. He went out with a bang, scoring 37 points while shooting 18 of 18 from the free-throw line in a CIF State playoff triple-overtime loss to Foothill.

G/F: Christian Brown - La Costa Canyon - Junior

Christian Brown La Costa Canyon

Brown had a breakout season for the Mavericks, stepping up in some of his team's biggest games. He had 31 points in La Costa Canyon's win over San Marcos and 34 points in their win at San Ysidro.

F: Otto Landrum - Torrey Pines - Senior

Otto Landrum Torrey Pines

Landrum was the Falcons' lone returning starter and took on the lead role on his way to averaging 19 points and 11 rebounds per game. He posted a triple-double with 17 points, 12 rebounds, and ten assists against San Ysidro in December.

ALL-SECTION SECOND TEAM

G: Jaden Matingou - St. Augustine - Junior

Jaden Matingou St. Augustine

Matingou was one of five underclassmen starters for the Saints that went undefeated against San Diego Section teams. He averaged ten points, five assists, four rebounds, and three steals per game for the top-ranked Saints.

G: Ian de la Rosa - St. Augustine - Sophomore

de la Rosa shot 41-percent from three-point range while averaging 13 points and eight rebounds per game. He was among the state's leaders averaging just under five steals per game.

G: Camden McCormick - Francis Parker - Senior

Camden McCormick Francis Parker

McCormick was a consistent performer for the Lancers, scoring in double digits in each game this season. He averaged 20 points and ten rebounds per game for the season.

F: Justin White - Mission Hills - Senior

Justin White Mission Hills

White averaged 18 points and eight rebounds per game while helping lead the Grizzlies to the Palomar League championship. He had 31 points in January's win over Rancho Bernardo.

F: Martin Flores - San Ysidro - Senior

Flores averaged 22 points per game, surpassing the 20 points per game mark for the second consecutive season. He had a season high 34 points in January's loss to La Costa Canyon.
