TOP 15 CATCHERS IN SAN DIEGO SECTION HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

(The list is in alphabetical order)

Junior Barajas – Torrey Pines – Senior

Barajas has impressed in his first season as the Falcons' full-time starter. In 16 games this season, he's hitting .286 with two doubles and a home run and has struck out only three times in 56 plate appearances.

Jake Bold – La Jolla Country Day – Senior

Bold broke out as a junior, hitting .394 with six home runs. The Princeton-signee is heating up once again, raising his average to .404 through 18 games with home runs in each of his last four games.

Austin Butler – Poway – Senior

Butler has been on fire, leading the Titans in hitting with a .462 average through the first 19 games of the season. He's collected six double and two home runs while positioning himself as one of San Diego's top unsigned seniors.

Jacob Campagna – Francis Parker – Junior

Campagna has played a large role for the Lancers during their current 15-game winning streak. The University of San Francisco commit is hitting .392 with four home runs and has walked 18 times in 19 games. He's also thrown out 31 percent of base stealers.

Zac Farrell – San Marcos – Senior

Zac Farrell San Marcos

Farrell hit nine home runs during his junior season for the Knights. The Army commit has improved his average to .365 this season and has hit six home runs while splitting time between the outfield and catcher.

Josh Hartman – Rancho Bernardo – Sophomore

Hartman is hitting .260 in his first varsity season with the Broncos and launched his first career home run earlier this month against Torrey Pines. He's committed to UC-Santa Barbara.

Nico Libed – Eastlake – Junior

Libed hit two home runs and stole eight bases last season for the Open Division Champion Titans. The University of San Diego commit has raised his average up to .338 with a .451 on-base percentage this season while seeing time all over the field including outfield and pitcher.

Cody Macias – Granite Hills – Senior

Macias has a .421 on-base percentage for the Eagles this season. He's committed to Colorado State-Pueblo.

Tommy Molina – Steele Canyon – Junior

Molina has had a breakout season for the Cougars. After hitting .287 as a sophomore, he's raised his average to .436 this season to go along with six home runs and seven stolen bases.

Dante Pacheco – Mar Vista – Senior

Pacheco has raised his play as a senior, batting .431 with five doubles and three home runs during the first 21 games of the season for the Mariners.

Colby Podratz – Classical Academy – Senior

Podratz has shown patience at the plate this season, getting on-base at a .483 clip. The Pacific University (Oregon) commit has added three home runs and four doubles.

Ethan Swidler – Canyon Crest – Senior

Swidler is hitting .367 with a .449 on-base percentage during his final season with the Ravens. He's signed with Lafayette College.

Brett Williams – San Marcos – Junior

Williams has split time with Zac Farrell at catcher this season and plays left field when he's not behind the plate. He's provided a big boost offensively to an already loaded San Marcos lineup, hitting .400 with four home runs and three doubles through the first 16 games.

Joey Wittig – Maranatha Christian – Junior

Wittig is hitting .455 with six double, a triple, and a home run for the Eagles. The Air Force commit has showcased his versatility, striking out 20 in only 11.2 innings on the mound.

Jason Wright – Westview – Senior

Wright leads the Wolverines in hits this season to go along with a .389 on-base percentage. The San Diego State-signee has struck out only three times in 72 plate appearances on the season.
