Congratulations to Patrick Henry baseball LHP Talin Gardini for being voted SBLive’s Southern California High School Athlete of the Week for May 2-8!

The sophomore threw a complete game shutout in Monday's 2-0 win over University City, striking out 14 batters.

Gardini received 51.62% of the vote, beating out Kennedy's Oscar Patron who finished second with 26.17%. San Marcos' Liam Herrera finished third with 12.1% and La Costa Canyon's Gabe Camacho finished fourth with 5.78%. There were over 19,000 votes tallied this week!

Jonah Silverstein, El Camino baseball: Silverstein had seven hits in last week's series against Ramona including a double, triple, and a home run.

Gabe Camacho, La Costa Canyon baseball: Camacho hit a two-run home run and pitched the final three innings of Tuesday's shutout against Torrey Pines to combine with teammate Roni Chutke to no-hit the Falcons.

Brady Dockan, Rancho Bernardo baseball: Dockan tossed a complete game shutout, striking out seven to help the Broncos beat rival Poway, 1-0.

Jackson Bush, Santa Fe Christian baseball: Bush threw a one-hitter against Classical Academy on Tuesday, leading the Eagles to a 5-0 win.

Liam Herrera, San Marcos baseball: Herrera hit a walk-off home run, his eighth home run of the season, in Thursday's 5-4 win against Carlsbad.

Adrian Herrera, Montgomery baseball: Herrera threw a no-hitter against Eastlake, striking out nine batters. The win earned the Aztecs the outright Metro Mesa League title.

Gavin Bautista, Kennedy baseball: Bautista had four hits including a triple and double in Monday's shutout.

Oscar Patron, Kennedy baseball: Patron threw a five inning one-hitter against Van Nuys and struck out 14 batters.

Alexander Jimenez, Wilson baseball: Jimenez had two triples and drove in four runs against Sotomayor on Tuesday.

Albert Cano, Bishop Union baseball: Cano had four hits including two doubles and a triple and drove un five runs against Desert on Tuesday.

Kian Polk, Riverside Poly baseball: Polk tossed a complete game shutout against Cerritos in round one of the Southern Section playoffs.

Cole Clark, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame baseball: Clark allowed one hit and struck out seven batters during seven shutout innings against Mira Costa on Friday.

CC Romero, Northridge Academy softball: Romero was 4-4 with two triples and six runs batted in against East Valley.

Katelen Padroza, Legacy softball: Padroza had a home run, double and single and drove in two runs against Garfield.

Brianna Fierro, Chatsworth softball: Fierro had four hits including a home run to help the Chancellors beat Taft.

Jessica Rose, Birmingam softball: Rose had two doubles and drove in three runs to help the Patriots take down Cleveland.

Kaylanie Rodriguez, Yucaipa softball: Rodriguez had three hits including a double and drove in three runs against Summit on Tuesday.

Quinn Southerland, Capistrano Valley softball: Southerland had four hits and stole three bases against El Modena.

Sophia Gonzalez, Rosamond softball: Gonzalez had three hits including two doubles and drove in four runs against Kern Valley.

Peyton Rohr, Viewpoint softball: Rohr threw a no-hitter against Beverly Hills last week. Rohr walked one batter and struck out 15 during the outing.
