FOURTH QUARTER

--  Harvard-Westlake's All-American senior Trent Perry makes both shots to wrap up a 54-47 victory for the Wolverines, who bring home the 2024 CIF Southern Section Open Division title.

-- Roosevelt turns the ball over shortly after crossing halfcourt, and that likely locks up the win for Harvard-Westlake.

-- Looking at the replay, it appears Harvard-Westlake might have been gifted two free throws there. That's a tough call to make in the final seconds, but certainly not the determining factor in the outcome of this game.

-- Trent Perry goes to the free throw line with 15 seconds left, and the USC commit misses both shots. Roosevelt grabs the rebound but a foul is called on the Mustangs and sends Robert Hinton to the line for two shots. Hinton makes both, and the Wolverines lead 52-47 with 14 seconds left.

-- Roosevelt gets a stop and Darnez Slater sinks a three on the other end, making it 50-47 in favor of Harvard-Westlake with 40 seconds to go.

-- Trent Perry makes a pair of free throws to give Harvard-Westlake a six point lead with two minutes to go.

-- The tension rises, as Roosevelt senior Darnez Slater hits a three in front of the Mustangs' bench to cut it back to four, 48-44, with less than three minutes to go.

-- Trent Perry pulls up from mid-range and buries a jumper, putting the Wolverines ahead 48-41.

-- Roosevelt cuts the lead to five points with 4:30 to go, as Isaac Williamson scores on a turnaround floater in the paint. The junior guard is down after the play with what an apparent injury and is helped off the court.

-- Robert Hinton is fouled on a mid-range jumper, so Harvard-Westlake scores its first points of the quarter on a pair of free throws by the Harvard commit.

-- Harvard-Westlake calls a timeout nearly two minutes into the quarter after a few empty possessions. The Wolverines lead by six, 44-38, with 6:12 to go.

THIRD QUARTER

-- Harvard-Westlake senior Christian Horry drains a corner three, as the Wolverines end the quarter on a small run to extend their lead to 44-36 entering the fourth quarter.

-- Nikolas Khamenia ends the Roosevelt run with a soft hook from the lower block. The four-star junior has showed up tonight in the biggest game of the season.

-- Isaac Williams knocks down a three, making it a 7-0 run for Roosevelt. A strong response from the Mustangs, who trail by just three after a sluggish start to the half.

-- Harvard-Westlake starts strong in the second half, scoring a quick two baskets to extend their lead to ten points, 37-27.

SECOND QUARTER

-- Roosevelt junior Brayden Burries (11 points) goes 1-for-2 at the free throw line in the final seconds of the first half. Harvard-Westlake leads 33-27 at the break behind 14 points and five rebounds from Nikolas Khamenia and a stout defensive effort.

-- Robert Hinton hits a turnaround jumper to push the lead back to seven points for Harvard-Westlake. The Wolverines offense has slowed down a tick as Trent Perry sits on the bench with two fouls.

-- Brayden Burries picks up his third foul and send Nikolas Khamenia to the line for two shots. That's three fouls on Roosevel's best player to go with two fouls on Harvard-Westlake's top player, Trent Perry.

-- Darnez Slater finishes in the paint through the foul by Trent Perry, his second, but misses the free throw for the three-point play. Roosevelt trails by six, 26-20, halfway through the quarter.

-- Brayden Burries is fouled on a three pointer and knocks down all of his three throws for Roosevelt, so it's back to a seven point game.

-- Isaiah Carroll buries a triple from the wing to push Harvard-Westlake's lead to double digits, 25-15, early in the quarter.

FIRST QUARTER

-- Roosevelt's Myles Walker draws the foul on a drive to the basket and goes 2-for-2 at the free throw line, cutting into Harvard-Westlake's lead and helping the Mustangs end a slow first quarter on a bit of a high note.

-- McDonald's All-American Trent Perry sinks a tough jumper over a Roosevelt defender to give Harvard-Westlake a 14-7 lead.

-- Four-star junior Nikolas Khamenia knocks down a three for Harvard-Westlake's first points of the game. The stars are shining early in this one.

-- Five-star junior Brayden Burries opens the scoring with a tough finish in the paint, giving Roosevelt an early 2-0 lead.
