SBLive's All-CIF Southern Section 2024 boys basketball team
SBLive has announced its 2023-24 All-CIF Southern Section boys basketball team and yearly awards, including the Player of the Year.
Below is the list of yearly awards and winners. To read exclusively about the yearly award winners, click their name.
Following the yearly awards is the All-Southern Section first and second teams comprised of 10 names on each team.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Mercy Miller, Notre Dame/Sherman Oaks, Sr.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Issac Williamson, Roosevelt, Jr.
BREAKOUT PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Justin Pippen, Sierra Canyon, Sr.

FIRST TEAM
Carter Bryant, Corona Centennial, Sr.
Centennial's Carter Bryant scored 39 points in a league win over Roosevelt.

Bryant helped to lead Corona Centennial to another CIF Southern Section Open Division playoff berth by averaging 15 points, nine rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. The highlight of his senior season was scoring 39 points in a win over rival Eastvale Roosevelt.
Bryant was selected as a McDonald's All-American and is signed with Arizona.
Brayden Burries, Roosevelt, Jr.

Burries is heralded as one of the best juniors in the country and showed why in the 2023-24 campaign after sitting out high school basketball his sophomore season.
Burries averaged 24.8 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.7 steals per game to help the Mustangs win the Big XIII League title and reach the CIF-SS and SoCal regional Open Division finals.

Aidan Fowler is your favorite player's favorite player.
The heady, tough point guard led JSerra in scoring this season en route to the program's first Open Division playoff berth since 2017. Fowler averaged 17.9 points per game and shot 44% from downtown. He also led the team in minutes played.
Eric Freeny, Corona Centennial, Sr.

Freeny, a UCLA-commit, finished the season averaging 19 points, 8.5 rebounds and three assists per game. He shot 42% from the 3-point line and 52% from the field this past season.
Gavin Hightower, Windward, Jr.

Hightower led Windward to an undefeated Gold Coast League title before helping the Wildcats get to the CIF-SS Division 1 final. The dynamic point guard averaged 16 points, seven assists, seven rebounds and three steals per game.
Hightower will be on the shortlist of SBLive Player of the Year in 2025 when he returns for his senior season.

Hinton's game proves the art of the midrange jumper is still alive and well at the high school level. The Harvard-commit was the leading scorer in the Wolverines' CIF State Open Division final (19 points).
Hinton finished the season averaging 16 points and five rebounds per game while shooting 57% from 2-point range.
Nik Khamenia, Harvard-Westlake, Jr.

Khamenia has emerged as a top prospect in the junior class due to his size and versatility. He can shoot from anywhere, guard any position and possess a calm demeanor that's garnered him offers from UCLA, Kansas and Gonzaga.
Khamenia averaged 14 points, 7.2 rebounds and four assists per game for Harvard-Westlake this season.
Brannon Martinsen, Mater Dei, So.

Martinsen averaged 17.3 points and 5.7 points per game as a sophomore, which earned him Trinity League co-MVP honors.
The standout sophomore scored 20 or more points 13 times this season.
Brandon McCoy, St. John Bosco, So.
Brandon McCoy holds CIF State Division I trophy.

McCoy averaged 18.6 points, eight rebounds and 2.4 steals per game this season. Regarded as the No. 1 sophomore in the country, McCoy showed why when he dazzled in the CIF State Division I final victory on March 8.
McCoy was the co-MVP of the Trinity League for the 2023-24 season.
Tyrone Riley, St. Pius, Sr.
St. Pius' Tyrone Riley.
Riley's senior season will be marked in St. Pius history.
The San Francisco commit averaged 22.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game to lead the Warriors to the program's first-ever Open Division playoff berth.
Riley was Del Rey League MVP.
