With the 2022 Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) softball playoffs starting this week, we’re taking a look at the top players to watch, class by class.

From Natalie Cable to Alivia Vance, there are several talented freshmen competing in the FHSAA softball playoffs.

Here’s an inside look at the Top 10 freshmen:

TOP 10 FRESHMEN IN FLORIDA SOFTBALL PLAYOFFS

1. Natalie Cable, UTIL (Bloomingdale)

Cable was as good of a two-way player as advertised, as she led the state recording 284 strikeouts in 126 2/3 innings pitched. Cable also hit seven home runs during the regular season for the Lady Bulls.

2. Morgen Talley, P/3B (Calvary Christian- Clearwater)

Talley had a .471 batting average and a 1.44 earned run average during the regular season for the Lady Warriors.

3. Sarah Breaux, INF (Doral Academy)

Breaux had a .366 batting average in 25 games played during the regular season for the Firebirds.

4. Adelyn Matthews, Catcher/Outfielder (Chiles- Tallahassee)

Matthews recorded a .617 on-base percentage in 20 regular season games played for the Timberwolves.

5. Abigail Satkoff, UTIL (Bishop Kenny)

Satkoff recorded a 1.11 earned run average in 10 pitching appearances this season for the Lady Crusaders.

6. Avery Powers, P/3B (Berkeley Prep)

Powers recorded 174 strikeouts in 111 1/3 innings pitched during the regular season for the Lady Buccaneers.

7. Jordyn Kinn, INF (Barron Collier)

Kinn ranked third in the state of Florida among freshmen, with 36 runs batted in during the regular season.

8. Makenna Bellaire, INF (Land O’Lakes)

Bellaire recorded a .512 on-base percentage in 27 games played so far for the Lady Gators. Land O’Lakes will travel to Strawberry Crest in the regional quarterfinals on Thursday night.

9. Kennedy Shea, INF (Strawberry Crest)

Shea had a .562 on-base percentage and drove in 34 runs during the regular season for the Chargers.

10. Alivia Vance, UTIL (Vanguard- Ocala)

Vance led the state among freshmen with 41 runs scored this season for the Lady Knights.
