With the 2022 Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) baseball playoffs starting this week, we’re taking a look at the top players to watch, class by class.

From Tyler Correa to Dominic Woodward, there are several talented freshmen competing in the FHSAA baseball playoffs.

Here’s an inside look at the Top 10 freshmen:

TOP 10 FRESHMEN IN FLORIDA BASEBALL PLAYOFFS

1. Tyler Correa, INF (Florida State University High- Tallahassee)

Correa had a team-high 37 runs scored in the regular season. He will lead the Seminoles heading into Wednesday’s regional quarterfinal game against The Villages Charter.

2. Michael Torres, OF/P (Doral Academy)

Torres hit a .531 batting average in 25 games played so far this season for the Firebirds.

3. Jacob Kendall, SS (Bartram Trail)

The Florida State verbal commit scored 16 runs during the regular season for the Bears. Bartram Trail hosts Oviedo in the regional quarterfinals Tuesday night.

4. Cooper Moss, RHP/3B (Arnold)

Moss drove in 38 runs during the regular season for the Marlins. The Florida commit also recorded 77 strikeouts in 53 innings on the mound. Arnold will host Wakulla in the regional quarterfinals on Wednesday.

5. Jackson Miller, OF (The Benjamin School)

Miller hit two home runs and recorded a .306 on-base percentage in 19 regular season games for the Buccaneers this season.

6. Jackson Roper, SS/RHP (Bishop Snyder)

Roper recorded a .538 on-base percentage in 17 regular season games for the Cardinals. Bishop Snyder will host Fernandina Beach in the regional quarterfinals on Wednesday night.

7. Mike Cascino, RHP/OF (Seminole)

Cascino recorded a .333 batting average in 14 regular season games for the Warhawks.

8. Stephen Chucka, OF (Master’s Academy- Oviedo)

Chucka hit for a .470 batting average and hit five home runs during the regular season for the Eagles.

9. Nic Partridge, INF (Lakeland)

Partridge recorded a .466 batting average in 23 games so far for the Dreadnaughts. Lakeland will travel to George Jenkins in the regional quarterfinals Tuesday night.

10. Dominic Woodward, RHP/SS (Plant)

Woodward recorded a 1.97 earned run average in seven appearances during the regular season for the Panthers.
