Vote: Who should be SBLive’s Central Florida Girls Basketball Player of the Week (1/8/2023)?

We’ve selected 11 candidates for your consideration

Central Florida girls’ basketball players are off and running in 2024, leading their schools with standout performances.

We looked at teams from Orange, Osceola, Lake, Seminole, Volusia, Brevard, and Indian River counties and nominated 11 athletes for the SBLive Central Florida Girls Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 2-6, 2024.

We ask you, the fan, to decide who should the top player selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, Jan. 14, at 11:59pm and will be announced in next week’s poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Jaloni Cambridge, Point Guard, Montverde Academy: The talented senior from Nashville continues to pour it on, recording 22 points in a 50-39 victory against Miami Country Day in the Stars Under the Sun New Year Classic in Davie.

Faith Wener, Shooting Guard/Guard, City of Life Christian Academy (Kissimmee): The 6-foot-2 senior recorded a double-double with 28 points and 14 rebounds and added five assists in a 74-62 victory against Life Christian Academy (Kissimmee).

Ashlynn Day, Guard, Life Christian Academy (Kissimmee): The 5-7 eighth-grader turned in a monster game with 37 points in a loss to City of Life Christian Academy (Kissimmee).

Carolina Boque, Utility, The First Academy-Leesburg: Junior scored eight points to lead the Eagles past Orangewood Christian School (Maitland), 29-19.

Jaida Williams-Goins, Point Guard, Rockledge: Senior had 16 points, two rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots in a close 42-35 loss to The Master’s Academy (Oviedo).

Evelyn Juden, Small Forward, Celebration: Fantastic freshman recorded 27 points, six rebounds and seven steals in a 55-25 victory against Trinity Prep (Winter Park).

Lexi Blue, Shooting Guard/Small Forward, Lake Highland Prep (Orlando): The 6-2 star senior recorded 16 points, seven rebounds, three assists and five steals in an 85-6 win against Trinity Prep (Winter Park).

Alayna Lherisse, Guard/Forward, Eau Gallie (Melbourne): Senior had 22 points, seven rebounds, four assists and five steals in a 58-50 loss to Heritage (Palm Bay). She also had 13 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double and added five assists and three steals in a 35-24 win against Titusville.

Alaina Preble, Point Guard/Shooting Guard, Edgewood (Merritt Island): Star senior continues to shine, recording 31 points, six rebounds, four assists and six steals in leading the Red Wolves past West Shore (Melbourne), 60-22.

E’mani Pryor, Center/Forward, Sebastian River: Fantastic 6-1 freshman had 15 points, five rebounds and three steals in a 43-31 victory against Bayside (Palm Bay).

Camryn Reid, Forward, Vero Beach: The 5-9 senior recorded 11 points, four rebounds and three steals in a close 46-41 loss to Holy Trinity Episcopal (Melbourne).
