The 2023-24 Florida high school wrestling season is underway and with it comes the SBLive Florida Wrestler of the Week poll.

ScorebookLive.com will run the poll each week. There will be one mixed poll for both boys and girls. Voting will conclude on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week’s new poll.

LOWER WEIGHTS

Solomon Peterson, Heritage, Senior

He took first place at the Colby Singletary Memorial in the 106-pound division with two falls, an ultimate tie-breaker and a decision to improve to 31-1 on the season.

Sayuri Caceres, Lincoln, Sophomore

She won the 100-pound division at the Lady Trojan meet, picking up three pins in the process and improved to 24-3 on the season.

Adaias Ortiz, Osceola, Freshman

He took first place at the Colby Singletary Memorial in the 113-pound division with three pins and a decision to improve to 30-1 on the season.

Jovani Solis, Somerset, Eighth-grader

He took first place at the Colby Singletary Memorial in the 132-pound division with three pins and improved to 48-0 on the season.

Luke Williams, Brandon, Senior

He won the 126-pound division at the Palmetto Pride IBT with two pins and a tech fall. He is now 32-3 on the season.

Roman Lermer, Tampa Jesuit, Senior

He took first place at the Moskowitz IBT with three consecutive pins in the 128-pound division. He is 37-4 on the season.

Frankie Florio, Cardinal Gibbons, Junior

He won the 144-pound division at the Tri-County Invitational, going 5-0 remain undefeated on the season.

UPPER WEIGHTS

Jaydon Robinson, Winter Springs, Senior

He won the Flagler Rotary 150-pound division with a pin and two tech falls to improve to 38-2 on the season.

Thomas Gernhart, Brandon, Senior

He won the 150-pound division at the Palmetto Pride IBT, posting four pins and improving to 34-0 on the season.

Elijah Penton, Winter Springs, Senior

He won the Flagler Rotary 175-pound division with a two pins, a tech fall and a decision to improve to 38-5 on the season.

Kawayran Vazquez, Tampa Jesuit, Freshman

He won the 159-pound division at the Moskowitz IBT with three pins and two tech falls. He is 22-2 on the season.

Grace Leota, Hernando, Junior

She won the 170-pound division at the Lady Rams Tournament of Champions with two pins, improving her record to 23-2 on the season.

Cheyenne Cruce, Middleburg, Junior

She won the 190-pound division at the Lady Rams Tournament of Champions with a pin, a decision and an ultimate tie-breaker win over second-ranked Emari Brown from Harmony in the title match. She is 17-0 on the season.

Michael Mocco, Cardinal Gibbons, Sophomore

He took first place at the Tri-County Invitational with four consecutive pins to improve to 29-2 on the season.
