Vote: Who should be SBLive’s Central Florida Boys Basketball Player of the Week (2/21/2024)?

Here are 14 candidates for your voting consideration

Central Florida high school boys’ basketball players went on a tear last week as regional playoffs got underway.

We looked at teams from Orange, Osceola, Lake, Seminole, Volusia, Brevard, and Indian River counties and nominated 14 athletes for the SBLive Central Florida Boys Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 12-17, 2024.

We ask you, the fan, to decide who should the top player selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, Feb. 25, at 11:59pm and will be announced in next week’s poll.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. The poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Derik Queen, Forward, Montverde Academy: The talented 6-foot-10 senior from Baltimore recorded a double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds and added five assists to lead the unbeaten Eagles (28-0) past Legacy Early College (S.C.), 77-40. Earlier, he had 16 points, nine rebounds and three steals in a 90-58 victory against Long Island Lutheran.

Donovan Williams, Jr., Guard, Edgewater: The super 6-4 sophomore poured in 27 points to lead the Eagles past St. Cloud, 72-67, in a Class 6A regional quarterfinal.

Alex Springs, Guard, St. Cloud: Junior scored 22 points in a close loss to Edgewater.

Jordan Tillery, Wing/Guard, Oak Ridge: Georgia Southern signee busted loose for 18 points and eight assists in an 87-76 Class 7A regional quarterfinal win against Osceola (Kissimmee).

Cameron Bryant, Guard/Wing, Oviedo: The 6-6 junior notched 17 points and eight rebounds to push the Lions past East River (Orlando), 51-46, in overtime, in a regional playoff game.

Nathan Kirk, Point Guard, Mainland: Sophomore recorded 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists and six steals in a 58-41 Class 5A regional quarterfinal win over Pine Forest.

TJ Drain, Power Forward, Windermere: The 6-7 junior erupted for 22 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double and added seven blocks to lead the Wolverines past Palm Beach Lakes, 66-59, in a Class 7A regional quarterfinal.

Antonio Pollard, Point Guard/Wing, Evans (Orlando): Junior pumped in 20 points to lead the Trojans past Lake Mary, 79-41, in a Class 7A regional quarterfinal.

Josiah Shackelford, Shooting Guard, Seminole (Sanford): The 6-4 senior exploded for 32 points to propel the Seminoles past Creekside, 82-72, in a Class 7A regional quarterfinal.

Mo Kamara, Forward, University High: The 6-8 junior recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds and added four blocks to push the Cougars past Apopka, 57-48, in a Class 7A regional quarterfinal.

Willie Barnett, Wing/Guard, Palm Bay: The 6-4 sophomore scored 15 points to lead the Pirates past Umatilla, 63-45, in a Class 4A regional quarterfinal.

Brandon Bass Jr., Shooting Guard, Windermere Prep: Sophomore star netted 21 points to lead the Lakers past Foundation Academy (Orlando), 85-55 in a Class 3A regional quarterfinal.

Isaiah Brown, Shooting Guard, Orlando Christian Prep: Exploded for 24 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals in an 82-42 romp against Halifax Academy (Daytona Beach).

Terrance Shannon, Point Guard, Rockledge: Junior recorded 18 points, four rebounds and four assists to propel the Raiders past Miami Northwestern, 62-36, in a Class 5A regional quarterfinal.
