OUTLOOK

Last season was a rough go for Crespi in the very competitive Angelus League. That said, they were a ridiculously young team with a new head coach. In terms of experience, last year actually set a great foundation, given that 18 starters are returning. This season, Crespi has a good mix of youth and experience, and is poised to take a big step forward.

Blake Adams is expected to start at quarterback, and the coaches have high hopes for him. Jackson White will be a featured option at halfback and wide receiver. Also lining up at receiver is athletic two-way force Chance Tucker.

Defensively, Tucker (DB) headlines a long list of returners who are ready to improve as individuals and as a unit. Joining him in the secondary is safety Taylor Evans. Standout MLB Jeremiah Alemayehu leads a young defensive front with numerous prospects. White plays defensive end, and backers Nicholas Garcia and Jack Valdez should have a big impact.

After one season, coach Porter already loves the positive-mindset culture that the Celts embody in his program. That mindset seems like it would foster a huge jump across the board. If the leap is big enough, they could find themselves in playoff contention.
